It may have been some time since we last had any communication with you. I therefore thought this would be a good time to follow up on the options that we can offer you as an accounting solutions dealer for an integrated accounting solution for PC and Mac.

There has been quite a number of developments in our product range and I think that you would be very interested to know that we have now integrated our Macintosh and PC packages so they both simultaneously use one and the same, industry standard databases, ie Microsoft SQL Server. The 'smaller' user can of course use Microsoft MSDE database engine and enjoy the same cross platform solution.

Unlike a number of other accounting applications, AstrA isn't just a Mac and PC compatible program, ie where you can have Mac and PC data but it is not shareable or usable at the same time, AstrA is FULLY integrated and the database created is FULLY shareable in a true multi-user environment. This allows the Mac user (some would say the 'up-front' workforce) to enter the accounts data, prepare invoices and do the credit control etc and it then allows the 'accountant' who may be more PC orientated to check and audit the accounts from their PC. This option then effectively eliminates the hurdle where the accountant would have dictated that a PC package was used because they simply don't use Macs.

Using MS SQL/MSDE also allows the Mac and PC user to generate bespoke reports without the usual ties of the accounting application they have purchased, ie AstrA is not a proprietary database, it is an industry standard and as such can be interrogated with such as Excel and other report writers and applications to generate specific and fully customised user reports.

As you can tell, we are very excited about our latest integration as AstrA now allows the complete freedom of choice in machine platform and indeed a mixed environment without the hassle of data transfer or modifications. We are now forging ahead with our development plans and we would be pleased to have you as a reseller as this development progresses.
